Guest guest
Hi again, As I drifted off to sleep last night, I thought of this possible scenario for lip balm samples: I use coffee stirring sticks to stir my waxes and oils together when I'm making lip balm; I can also to test the hardness/softness of the blend as I'm working by rubbing the smooth, rounded end on my lips. The lip balm sets up almost immediately after being lifted from the hot mixture. So why not cut the coffee stirring sticks into 2 1/2 " lengths saving the rounded ends and throwing away the middles. These could be dipped in 1/2 " of warm balm mixture and then a little piece of wax paper folded over, I'm sure it would stick. A small basket or bowl of these would allow people to sample independently. This is what I do at night instead of counting sheep. Guest guest
i'm working on this! i've actually found some 2.5 " wood " lipstick tester " spatulas so there's no need to cut and potentially make splinters. i'm deciding whether to buy 10,000 for $50 or 1,000 for $9 with a $50 order minimum ... i'm also waiting for some samples b/c i want to test it out before shelling out my $50 either way. i also don't do very many shows, and want to include samples with orders shipped and pass out lip balm samples as I pass people on the slopes (whether it's snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking) so I want to find a little baggy or other covering to put the " lipstick dips " into. thanks to everyone for all the great suggestions and ideas; i am putting together a summary of what i've found and plan to post it to the groups' files section (one of these days!!). a sell off on the lipstick tester spatulas may also be looming if I end up with 10,000 of them!!!! ~Bonnie - " laureldeleo " <Ldeleo Friday, December 30, 2005 11:11 AM lip balm samples Hi again, As I drifted off to sleep last night, I thought of this possible scenario for lip balm samples: I use coffee stirring sticks to stir my waxes and oils together when I'm making lip balm; I can also to test the hardness/softness of the blend as I'm working by rubbing the smooth, rounded end on my lips. I buy from this site a lot. For small samples, I use the heat seal pouches from here. http://www.alternasense.com/id67.htm If you don't have an impulse sealer, you can use an iron to seal the packets Paula .......... in Michigan I used to have super powers but my therapist took them away i'm working on this! i've actually found some 2.5 " wood " lipstick tester " spatulas so there's no need to cut and potentially make splinters. i'm deciding whether to buy 10,000 for $50 or 1,000 for $9 with a $50 order minimum ... i'm also waiting for some samples b/c i want to test it out before shelling out my $50 either way. i also don't do very many shows, and want to include samples with orders shipped and pass out lip balm samples as I pass people on the slopes (whether it's snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking) so I want to find a little baggy or other covering to put the " lipstick dips " into. thanks to everyone for all the great suggestions and ideas; i am putting together a summary of what i've found and plan to post it to the groups' files section (one of these days!!). a sell off on the lipstick tester spatulas may also be looming if I end up with 10,000 of them!!!! ~Bonnie
