Guest guest
Marty Thank you for your in depth article. One thing that Dr Roobert Sohn would instruct from day one was a constanty reminder to " relax your anus " . You can not do Tai Ji with tensions throughout your whole body. Tai Ji is a lot more than form. Additionally we would work two at a time with your partners hand on your spine as you moved through form. If you moved one vertebrae by one iota you had to start all over again. These are some of the minuet details in order to practice Tai Ji properly and get the optimal benefit. As has been said.....without this attention it is NOT Tai Ji. Some might wish to avail themselves by reading his book on Tai Ji Qi Gong and peek into what it really takes. Guest guest
Glad to see another Dr.Sohn follower here. I actually joined the group as a result of a friend on this group pointing out this post. Yes! Dr.Sohn's favorite comment sometimes I think was in fact - relax your anus. I also remember practicing all the principles all the time or your not doing Taiji. I still practice and teach his form to this day! Guest guest
Actually, its " Sou Gang " ... " pucker up your anus " ... [?]. " Relax you anus " would make it drop or worse...prolapse! LOL! Guest guest
I wasn't going to comment on this because all these people were strongly talking about what it takes to master Tai Chi Chuan. Its a combination of both, slight squeeze at Hui Yin, the Perineum, but relax the rest of the body, this squeeze or closing keeps the Qi inside the body so it can circulate internally, internal medicine, the movement of the form guides it through patterns of channels in the body. If the perineum is open and week, Qi leaks out, draining our Qi. regards, david
