Guest guest
Phil Bob Felt's frustration and anger as a publisher......owning rights and losing money is easy to understand and respect his position. Knowing you all these years.......at least as long as Bob.... I believe your sincerity and innocence. Not that that appears to matter much to Bob. You hear me write often about the crooked rigged system with its tentacles hooked into many arenas including acupuncture education and so-called board certifications... not to forget licensing in the US.....but that does not seem to bring out the wrath from anyone. For me it does......but I guess for the majority it's.....oh well. What can one do about it? It's too big, too ingrained, been going too long...etc etc. This is said certainly not to diminish the events of piracy of such owned and copyrighted material. I understand from two colleagues on CMN List that the Taiwanese text was blatent piracy of the Mitchel-Ye-Wiseman translation of Shanghan Lun. There is no indication on the URL that the work is not Dr. Chen's. That is a great pity because the online version integrated Chinese Hanzi characters with their English translation, which I am told is to a very high standard. The text would have been an invaluable online resource for TCM students and those who want to learn TCM terminology. Please note that I sent the URL in good faith, beleiving that colleagues on the lists were interested in online data on TCM topics and not recognising that the work was piracy. I had not read the original hard-copy. See http://www.paradigm-pubs.com/catalog/detail/ShaHanLunYiShi As there is no online copy of the Paradigm text, there was no way for me to compare Hanzi strings from the " Chen " text with the " Paradigm " text. For the record, I do not advocate stealing of books, or blatant piracy with no acknowledgement of the original authors. Therefore, I apologise publicly to Bob Felt & Paradigm Publishers, who own copyright of the original translation. I understand that they are taking steps to have the pirated version removed from WWW. I also ask you to delete my original mail from your files.I will be deleting it from the archives of PVA-L and PA-L. I also ask the Listmasters of VBMA, , chinesemedicine-network and traditional_Chinese_Medicine to delete the mail from their archives.
