Guest guest
I'm volunteering to go to Haiti. Am NADA trained but the organizers report the possible need for anesthesia protocols. I've heard of LI 4. Does anyone have experience, training or know of any reference material they could pass on? Thanks! Karin
Guest guest
Karin AA is specific to the area being treated. Review the following as example: _Gancao.net » Acupuncture Anesthesia_ (http://gancao.net/acupuncture/acupuncture-anesthesia-209) Richard In a message dated 1/27/2010 9:54:42 A.M. Guest guest
I have not used it myself but my colleague did dental anesthesia and was trained in Hongkong. He used an ear point locator to find the specific point, inserted the needles, and then applied electric stimulation with a standard machine to the ear needles. You start the electric, use milliamp, not microcurrent, 15 to 20 minutes before the procedure; use Dense/Disburse. Additionally you also needle on the ear: Sympathetic Nerve and Shenmen. People have different pain thresholds, and I was told that it doesn't work for everyone. " Essentials.. " has a chapter describing the details. Guest guest
Hi Karin - by anesthesia, did they mean to say pain-killing??? If it's surgery then you need quite a bit of training. If it's pain-killing just do CM differentiation and balance the channels and zang-fu.
