Guest guest
No, they won't pay for it.  Our " re-eval " time is supposedly absorbed in the 97810 or 97813 code. ________________________________ " Ariel Solomon, L.Ac. Is this something that insurance companies will pay for weekly? Thanks! Guest guest
I bill accurately for my time; if the client has questions, or a very complex condition, or wants to discuss a different condition, I bill a consult fee, and sometimes that's pretty much every week. Only ASH routinely disallows those charges; PIP, BCBS, Providence, and Kaiser usually pay, however, Kaiser also keeps track how many standard deviations you differ from your colleagues in terms of what the charge per visit is. Guest guest
I just took an insurance seminar class this weekend BCBS will pay for 99212 and 99213 billed once a month but you must use the modifier 25. Some other insurance companies will allow it to be billed more than once a month. It is the modifier 25 that allows you to do this in addition to 97810 because the modifier states that extra time is needed. Now of course you must do what " qualifies " as an exam to the insurance company, not just pulses, csoe, tongue diagnosis, palpations, etc. You can contact American Acupuncture Council and ask for Sam, he is the insurance expert there and he will tell you the same, he is the one who ran the seminar. Guest guest
I think that your info is out of date. since 2009, BCBC pays $55 for a visit, no matter what you do, even for initial evals. Additional codes are ignored. I have BCBS netowrk status through Landmark. -ben hawes, L.Ac. Guest guest
BCBS operates different plans in different states. Only in Landmark plans is the fee fixed, in other states, such as Oregon, they pay fee for service.
