Guest guest
Hi all - Would appreciate some ideas for acupoints for eczema on the labia. Patient has eruptions on her lower left leg (ST channel) as well; and upper right arm in the past. It is red, dry and itchy (no sores or oozing). I did wind points (SJ6, GB31, LI4) blood heat (SP10); also nourished blood (Liv8, SP6. Added Liver 5 and Ki 6 to target the labial area specifically but wonder what other points I can use for that area? It is obviously very distressing for her. She's 31, has had it for 8 years. She is also often constipated, but we've gotten that regulated. I wonder if there's a connection between the LI and the eczema? Also, I've read that eczema can be caused by food allergies. Can someone elaborate on that? Any and all advice appreciated!! Thanks.
Guest guest
Hi, It may be a very basic connection, but LI has to do with skin... and eczema is also related to skin. Any anger -besides anger at having the problem? What was happening in the patient's life when it first started? Dairy products (especially from cow's milk) can often exacerbate eczema. Sugar may also exacerbate it (eruptions on ST channel). Artemis
Guest guest
i've got a dr. tan balance method quick and dirty point combo for vaginal disorders that i've gotten favorable results with. it's at my office, and my internet connection is at home, where i do my admin work. if you call me at the office to remind me i can fax or copy it to email later. 828 258-2777 the food allergy connection has to do with wei qi xu: atopics will have allergies sx + excema/skin probs. usually these are respiratory allergies. but some foods also exacerbate. i had excema for 40y, childhood onset. my childhood list of foods to avoid were eggs, chocolate, wool. there were others, that i'm not recalling at the moment. chocolate was the most difficult, esp as a child. and eggs c/b inconvenient esp at bfast and no mayo (no vegan alt were on the market at that time). as an adult i began reintroducing the foods and no longer have a + assoc. however wool still irritates and will cause a rash, as will frequent handwashing with soap/detergent. red, dry itchy: xue H + Wind.const due to xue xu or heat (or both). LI/LU connection. manual of derm in TCM (big yellow book) is invaluable for derm conditions: theory, patterns, acu/herbs. 3 " thick. lots of different derm conditions discussed. kath On Wed, Feb 17, 2010 at 4:57 PM, eastwestacup <eastwestacupwrote: > > > Hi all - > Would appreciate some ideas for acupoints for eczema on the labia. Guest guest
Hi. Have you seen eczema-like symptoms due to just pure blood deficiency? I have a new patient and her rash looks like eczema but does not itch unless she is around people. She has had multiple miscarriages and episodes of hemoraging after giving birth at age 40 and since has had no periods and went through menopause. She is now 50 and has been dealing with this rash for 4 years. It is along almost her entire spinal column and is starting to migrate between her shoulder blades. Every topical she has ever tried has not worked. She figured she should try to get it treated, although it doesn't seem to bother her much. She seems to have a weak SP/ST constitutionally as well. Any other thoughts are appreciated! > > acukath > Wed, 17 Feb 2010 18:59:10 -0500 > Re: Eczema advice > > i've got a dr. tan balance method quick and dirty point combo for vaginal > disorders that i've gotten favorable results with. it's at my office, and > my internet connection is at home, where i do my admin work. if you call me > at the office to remind me i can fax or copy it to email later. 828 > 258-2777 > > the food allergy connection has to do with wei qi xu: atopics will have > allergies sx + excema/skin probs. usually these are respiratory allergies. > but some foods also exacerbate. i had excema for 40y, childhood onset. my > childhood list of foods to avoid were eggs, chocolate, wool. there were > others, that i'm not recalling at the moment. chocolate was the most > difficult, esp as a child. and eggs c/b inconvenient esp at bfast and no > mayo (no vegan alt were on the market at that time). as an adult i began > reintroducing the foods and no longer have a + assoc. however wool still > irritates and will cause a rash, as will frequent handwashing with > soap/detergent. > > red, dry itchy: xue H + Wind.const due to xue xu or heat (or both). Guest guest
Hello, I forgot to mention that some washing liquids/powders (avoid the ones with enzymes in them), shower gels, etc. can also be skin irritants. Artemis
