Guest guest
Hello there, eastwest, Usually eczema is caused by allergic reaction of food. This can be seen in children and it can be resolved by having them changing their diet ( espcially milk ) until their proper food. Eczema can be from mineral or vitamin deficiency which is from environment or drug ( chemical ) abused. In this case it should be blamed by Yangming channel ( more Qi and more blood ). Yangming is the Postnatal Qi where Gu Qi is transformed into good nutrient and jing to nourish the whole body. If this Gu Qi is toxin or poison , the blood will also be toxin..... and guess what ????????? NO matter of deficiency or excess, it is Yangming channel of Qi and Blood. It has nothing to do with Lu ( as the Lu rules the skin ). I believed if Gu Qi is not good, toxic blood will be formed. Bu Gong Yin " Dandelion leaves and roots " will be excellent for this case. Dandelion cook can be use externally. I think it must be better than Bai Zhi. The best formula for eczema is Ba Zhen Wan, but we may add Bu Gong Yin for detoxifying the blood. Acupuncture , I would choose Sp9, S 36..... LI4 & LI 11 may be added........ Good luck Eastwest.........
Guest guest
You might suggest she seek out a practitioner trained in restorative endocrinology (http://restorativeendocrinology.com/) as women often have issues related to their hormones. Some practitioners are equating the hypothalamus-pituitary axis with the Heart-kidney channel. Hormones are quite powerful substances and this patient has had obvious hormonal changes happen during these times. Having the patient take a hormonal test, such as from Diagnostechs (http://diagnostechs.com/) is important, as they also measure the H-P hormones that no others appear to do. Just an FYI. Michael W. I have a new patient and her rash looks like eczema but does not itch unless she is around people. She has had multiple miscarriages and episodes of hemoraging after giving birth at age 40 and since has had no periods and went through menopause. She is now 50 and has been dealing with this rash for 4 years. It is along almost her entire spinal column and is starting to migrate between her shoulder blades. Every topical she has ever tried has not worked. She figured she should try to get it treated, although it doesn't seem to bother her much. She seems to have a weak SP/ST constitutionally as well. > > > > Any other thoughts are appreciated! > > > > > acukath > > Wed, 17 Feb 2010 18:59:10 -0500 > > Re: Eczema advice > > > > i've got a dr. tan balance method quick and dirty point combo for vaginal > > disorders that i've gotten favorable results with. it's at my office, and > > my internet connection is at home, where i do my admin work. if you call me > > at the office to remind me i can fax or copy it to email later. 828 > > 258-2777 > > > > the food allergy connection has to do with wei qi xu: atopics will have > > allergies sx + excema/skin probs. usually these are respiratory allergies. > > but some foods also exacerbate. i had excema for 40y, childhood onset. my > > childhood list of foods to avoid were eggs, chocolate, wool. there were > > others, that i'm not recalling at the moment. chocolate was the most > > difficult, esp as a child. and eggs c/b inconvenient esp at bfast and no > > mayo (no vegan alt were on the market at that time). as an adult i began > > reintroducing the foods and no longer have a + assoc. however wool still > > irritates and will cause a rash, as will frequent handwashing with > > soap/detergent. > > > > red, dry itchy: xue H + Wind.const due to xue xu or heat (or both). Guest guest
xue xu is a pattern in excema. xue not nourishing skin (no fluids --> dryness). pure xue xu will have pale legions. red legions indicate H: either xue H or d/h. damp/h has weeping/oozing legions. stress is also a + fx in excema. shen affecting the skin. esp with yin xu --> xue xu or a liver cycle generating H and Wind. k On Wed, Feb 17, 2010 at 7:16 PM, Lisa Smith <fudge_lisa wrote: > > Hi. > > Have you seen eczema-like symptoms due to just pure blood deficiency? Guest guest
Some feminine hygiene products are actually pretreated with chemical to avoid odors, these chemicals can include formaldehyde and some women get rashes from them. She might want to switch to washable pads or those from the natural food store. My understanding is that the skin (and fur) is ruled by the metal element, lung AND LARGE INTESTINE. It was stated that the Px suffers from chronic constipation, and that has been " regulated " . I cannot tell what " regulated " means in this case, is it thru regular use of laxatives, colonics? regular use of moistening herbs, what? Personally, I might use a different verb if proper function has been restored to the organ (like " corrected " ). Clinically we have seen several skin conditions that responded to LI work that did not respond to LU work. None the less, Nam, you and I are actually singing the same song: You say Yang Ming, I mention LI. Guest guest
I have had great results with xiao feng san and dang gui yin zhi wan. Also i do light gua sha over the area with great results, though in that area it could be very awkward and I am not sure effective. Liver 8, LV 5, Ub 30, Ki 2, I am remembering there is a point on the lung channel, upper arm. If it is really tender use it for yeast infections, just a thought. It is called Yun Bai(white cloud). It is at the base of the deltoid. It is not just for yeast infections but any type of vaginal infection. Just esp. useful for yeast. Also have the woman massage it on a regular basis until the tenderness dissapates. These are all master Tung Also Huan Chao(return nest) found on ulnar and palmer side of fourth finger right in the middle of the middle segment, between the red and white. Fu Ke(gyno points) these two are found on the ulner aspect of the proximal segment on the dorsal side of the thumb. The first point is 0.3 cun on the ulnar side of the midline of the proximal segment of the dorsal thumb 1/3 from the second finger crease, and the 2nd point is 2/3 from the second finger crease Also Three Sisters. These three points are used for gyno , esp vaginal itching and uterine fibroids or tumors. 1st is 8 cun above medial line of the knee and 1cun medial, from 1 to 2.5 cun deep. 2nd is 2.5 cun above 1st, 3rd is 2.5 cun above #2. Often used with Huan Chao or Fu Ke When Huan Chao is used with Fu Ke needle Fu Ke on right and Huan Chao on left. so my first thought was long dan xie gan tang, what do you think of that? --- On Wed, 2/17/10, eastwestacup <eastwestacup wrote: eastwestacup <eastwestacup Eczema advice Chinese Medicine Wednesday, February 17, 2010, 1:57 PM Â Hi all - Would appreciate some ideas for acupoints for eczema on the labia. Patient has eruptions on her lower left leg (ST channel) as well; and upper right arm in the past. It is red, dry and itchy (no sores or oozing). I did wind points (SJ6, GB31, LI4) blood heat (SP10); also nourished blood (Liv8, SP6. Added Liver 5 and Ki 6 to target the labial area specifically but wonder what other points I can use for that area? It is obviously very distressing for her. She's 31, has had it for 8 years. She is also often constipated, but we've gotten that regulated. I wonder if there's a connection between the LI and the eczema? Also, I've read that eczema can be caused by food allergies. Can someone elaborate on that? Any and all advice appreciated! ! Thanks.
