Lumbar canal stenosis.

 Dear all,

 

 I am treating a male patient aged 67yrs for lumbar canal stenosis with no good

pain relief in 1month's acupuncture treatments. MRI scan shows that there is

degenerative changes seen in lumbar vertebrae & the patient has been operated

for the same problem 15 yrs back.

 

I would like to share your experiences for the same & wht points shd be more

focussed & or which Rx would be beneficiary.

We need at least tongue/ pulse and TCM Diagnosis.

Any thoughts as to the cause of the stenosis from a western standpoint?

Needle the jia jie points of the affected vertebrae and the points 1 cun lateral

with e stim on rapid disperse, needle bl40 and bl60 stimulate those until de qi

is felt. Apply tui na to stretch out the vertebrae space align the vertebare

left/right and take the pressure off the nerve. You can get a lot of relief

with acupunture but if the problem is degenerated discs its hard to grow them

back, long term treatment to boost kidney yin and yang and spleen yang, san jiao

function is needed, this will boost the jin and ye of the discs, moxa sp shu,

kidney shu, ming men, points like rn 4 deep to the peritonium, kd7, 3, sp3, do

marrow points deep gb 39, l.i. 16, du 20. Herbs long term like restore the left

and right pills and gui pi wan...

Another helpful tech. is to needle yao tong xue with e-stim attached(make sure

they aren't prone to passing out) while the patient does " the twist " and

stretches out the lower back while standing up...

Check out Kang gu zeng sheng pian

available by Mayway etc.

It's " vine essence pill " without the animal ingredients?...The pipefish really

has some effect on the nerves, its too bad so many good medicines are

endangered...
