Guest guest
All of a sudden I have three patients with severe vaginal pain, especially with intercourse. They are all fourty and up and in very long term healthy relationships. I am not finding much info on this syndrome which is suprising since it seems to be so prevailent. Any thoughts. Thank you. Guest guest
This is unsubstantiated, but I heard from a patient of mine, who is somewhat younger (34), and has the same problem, that a gynecology specialist she saw in D.C. said there are many women having problems w/ pain, due they think to testosterone def, from using the nuva-ring birth control method. Apparently w/ testosterone def there is a thinning of a particular segment of the vaginal wall. That's all I know, and like I said, it's just word-of-mouth from a patient, unsubstantiated. Guest guest
That is the weird thing. They are all in " healthy, super (like 30 year)long relationships. That was going to be my next question. Guest guest
I have a patient that I recently treated for this issue- she was, however, post-menopausal and the pain started with the onset of menopause. She had pronounced liver yin/ blood deficiency with some blood stagnation due to cold def. I treated her with acupuncture weekly (usually some combination of sp6, 4 gates, ren4, liv8, lu7 (right), k6 (left), k3) and had her take herbs (yin and blood nourishing/ slightly moving) for a couple of months and now she is able to have intercourse without pain. She had had painful intercourse for 10 years, so I wasn't sure if I could help, but the treatment proved to be successful! ~Ariel Petra Buchanan wrote: > > > Oh and if you find that paper, please let me know. > > Thank you, Petra > > --- On Mon, 4/19/10, Petra Buchanan <petrabuchanan > <petrabuchanan%40>> wrote: > > Petra Buchanan <petrabuchanan > <petrabuchanan%40>> > Re: Vaginal pain/pain with intercourse > Chinese Medicine > <Chinese Medicine%40> > Monday, April 19, 2010, 6:55 PM > > > > That is the weird thing. Guest guest
So I used a protocal for cystitis on this patient and she has had an eighty % reduction in pain in just one week. Her husband and her are having sex for the first time in ten years!! It is so exciting. This is my patient with diabetic neuropathy. My other patient it seems has a condition where her vagina spasms when stimulated. Definitely emotional issues involved. So I am working more with her liver here. I will let you know how it goes. --- On Mon, 4/19/10, Petra Buchanan <petrabuchanan wrote: itpetrabuchanan Re: Vaginal pain/pain with intercourse Chinese Medicine Monday, April 19, 2010, 6:58 PM Â Oh and if you find that paper, please let me know.
