Guest guest
Posting this again. Would appreciate advice regarding estim and tinnitus. Not sure if estim is the right way to go? If so, from which point to which point (i.e. SJ 17 to a foot point? Or just SJ 17?) This is for excess tinnitus. PT had a virus last year and tinnitus started gradually after that; bad allergy season this spring has aggravated it; now it's constant. Appreciate any treatment ideas. thanks. Guest guest
any practitioner will tell you, tinnitus is difficult to tx. i've had some respond well, and others not (particulary men in the not catagory). the books give a variety of patterns but i've find (esp in menopausal women) its using liv/kid yin xu with liv yg rising. anchor and settle meds: cishi a must. wu wei zu/shi chang pu often used, i like to include shi jue ming, and often dai zhi shi. the text book rx is usually a rem 6 variation with cishi. i am currently working with a patient who didn't respond to the estim protocol (sj17, one of the 3 pts on the front of the ear. i was adding 2 gb pts around the ear, one caudal [gb8 area] and one posterior). i found this on the balance method forum: I had once successful tx, it was some years ago, when I was working in a student clinic. There was a pt with Meniers disease and tinnitus. TW5, Gb41, PC6,UB62 + Yin Tang. Or PC6,KD6, TW 5, UB 67. This is what I've found in my notes from that time with remark- success, tinnitus decreased from 8/10 to 2/10. May be you can try. i've been doing the p6, k6, sj5, ub67 combo. she seems to be improving with it. if anyone uses this combo please report findings. kath On Wed, Apr 28, 2010 at 10:44 AM, eastwestacup <eastwestacupwrote: > > > Posting this again.
