Guest guest
Most states that license acupuncture require the NCCAOM basic entry level EXAM which is different than PAYING them $400 more to ALSO receive the Diplomate piece of PAPER. That's what I have a problem with. They are either in the entry level exam business OR the Diplomate Board Certification business. NOT both at the same time. 15 out all the states that license acupuncture unlawfully require a renewal in Diplomate status to renew the state acupuncture license. That is what I am referring to as UNLAWFUL and MONOPOLISTIC. Lastly when you maintain such Diplomate status you CAN be sanctioned and disciplined to what you are AGREEING to by maintaining. Yes....a greatly watered down (for money) status in which they used to let in any Tom, Dick, or Mary whether MD or DC WITHOUT the national minimum of education. Therefore to me it's worthless. So I am wondering what advantages there are for renewing it? Will it become more important in the future? Also some " medical acupuncturists " use the Dipl. Ac. status so it doesn't seem so prestigious anymore. Any opinions on this? Thank you, Elie
