Guest guest
I am looking for any suggestions the esteemed members of this group might have about leaving a practice while going on vacation. My practice is a fairly busy, and growing, single practitioner acupuncture clinic. I have spent a lot of time, effort and money building my business in recent years and am beyond ready for my first longer vacation and a serious battery recharge. Leaving the practice with just a " Gone fishing " voicemail is not an option. I am considering hiring someone I trust to answer phones and book appointments for after my absence, but would actually prefer to have another acupuncturist tending my practice. I would welcome any and all suggestions about how to handle this situation, or tips about how not to do it. Thank you very much for your help. In Health Jens Maassen L.Ac. Guest guest
Hi Jens, I always give my clients the details of a colleague in case they need a treatment while I am on holidays. A lot of them say " it can't possibly be as good as with you! " and just refuse to see anyone else and prefer to wait until I'm back. A colleague once hired someone to cover for her while away but it brought up the issue of confidentiality. Is the person you're hiring having access to your client's notes? Is the client happy for that person to know that information? Artemis
