Dear Friends and Colleagues:

I have not yet received enough submissions to publish my online journal

in the fall. To those who have already contributed, thank you. If you

have something already written or anything on your mind, including a

good case study, it would be welcome.

This is not a peer-reviewed journal, but a forum at this point. We may

do some peer review in the future in some cases, but the journal wants

to encourage open participation at this point. For more info, go to the

Chinese Herbal Medicine at

http://www.spiritone.com/~herb-t

Topics may range from politics, education, philosophy, history, art,

poetry, clinical practice, etc. I still project a fall publication, but

maybe not 9/21. So submit ASAP, please.

I also want to announce that the NCCAOM has approved an online PDA

course I have designed. See

http://www.spiritone.com/~herb-t/ce.html

for more details. Please let your computer literate colleagues know

about this course and the journal and Chinese Herbal Medicine.

I encourage all of you to join Chinese Herbal Medicine discussion list

at

http://www.spiritone.com/~herb-t/discuss.html

Just Click on the join list icon. It's easy to sign up in a few

minutes. You don't have to participate and if you get sick of reading

the list, you can easily . I'm sure this feature works so no

one gets mail they don't want.

You may find it useful to ask your colleagues a question about a

difficult case, etc. You may also want to keep up with what real people

are actually thinking, doing and saying in their practices. Even if we

practice in group practices, I don't think many of us work with other

chinese herbalists. I think it is vital that we remain engaged with

each other on these topics so that we can keep this scholarly tradition

alive.

In the past few months, I have had very lively email discussions with

, Bob Flaws and Heiner Fruehauf. I believe the entire

profession would benefit from participating in these types of

discussions in the future.

Best Wishes and Warmest Regards,
