Hi all,

Firstly I'd like to thank you all for your input - it was very helpful.

I agree that we should treat through TCM dx - the only problem is that I've

found that when a patient is taking Western meds it sometimes masks symptoms and

I'm not good enough at uncovering the root. For example - women who take HRT

during menopause come in with a slippery pulse. I might be doing the wrong thing

but my intuition tells me that is only being caused by the drugs and therefore I

ignore it and refer to what I believe to be the root symptoms.

In the seam way that Chinese Herbs have an action and an energy - I believe that

Western meds also have that same characteristic and I take that into

consideration when I am diagnosing.

I'm still a rookie as far as TCM is concerned and I'm sure that experience will

teach me more. But have you also found that you have to take into account

Western meds while doing dx?

And Ze'v I appreciate your candor as far as treating patients who are taking

immunosuppresant drugs - then my first goal is to give them the courage to stop

taking them.......

Me either. Can anyone recommend a book on the energetics of western

medications?
