Thanks for the prompt replies on the question of domestic propagation of

herbs. Also: thanks for the info. Graham, I'll try to get as far as I

can.

Anyway, does anyone out there have any knowledge about the use of

blood-movers for persistent, stubborn, chronic nasal congestion? The

quality of the discharge is thin and clear, although, the general

congestion is a feeling of swelling in her sinuses that isn't necessarily

accompanied by discharge. Also: the nose completely opens up during, and

immediately after she cries.

She is 20. Typically runs cool. There is chronic, low-grade asthma which

comes and goes with no particular allergenic cause or stress. The stool

is loose, she is vegetarian, wakes feeling refreshed, has premenstrual

tension and depression with moderate to severe cramps the first 2 days.

There is low back ache with lack of sleep and with excessive physical

exertion. She tends towards irritability.

The pulse is deep @ both chi positions, slippery and thin @ r.cun & guan,

thready @ the l.guan, and tight @ the l. cun. The tongue is somewhat

pale with a thin white coat; fairly unremarkable.

The diagnosis was Lung Qi Xu with lung failing to descend and Sp Qi Xu.

My initial strategy was to combine Cang Er Zi San with Yu Ping Feng San.

This I did and there was little to no change in her condition, save a

slight increase in energy.

Then, given the deep chi pulses and the low back ache, I figured that the

kidneys were somewhat weak and couldn't grasp the lung qi properly. I

slightly altered my strategy to incorporate some kidney support with some

astringing. The following are the herbs I have been using for the past 2

weeks. My 2 questions are: 1) Should I consider the use of

blood-movers? If so, which ones? 2) Can anyone offer some other

suggestions given the small amount of info. I have provided?

Thanks for any help you can offer.
