I have prescribed the following formulas for an elderly patient of mine for

Yin Xu and Blood stasis. She is taking a long list of supplements and meds

and is concerned about interactions. I have not been able to find much

information about these specific meds and interaction problems. I suggested

she take a small amount (1 tab 2x/day of each) separating taking herbs and

meds by two hours.

(1) Does anyone have any information about interaction problems with these?

(2) She is a small 80-year-old who is in generally good health, who came to

me primarily for intercostal pain in her chest. She has had a full work-up

for heart disease and has no heart problems. She and her husband take long

hikes in the mountains most weekends. I wondered, after prescribing this

dosage, if such a small dose ( 1 tab b.i.d.) was even worth her taking? I

see her again tomorrow.

The formulas are:

I'd appreciate any thoughts and also any good sources for interaction

information other than the IBIS software and Lotus Herbs.

Thank you!
