Excuse the political notice, but for those who wish to contact NY State

Assembly members to defeat the 300 hour acupuncture certification for

Chiropractors and Podiatrists, I have included the email addresses of

pertinent assembly members below. All you need do is to copy the list in

a block and insert it in the " to " section of your email program. Feel

free to include one to your own representative if he or she is not on the

list. For a sample letter, and complete list of assembly members and

email addresses, go to Robert Eastern's site at

http://wowiraptor.tripod.com

The State Senate passed S2097 during this years' session and it will be

reviewed again next year by the Assembly. This allows inadequate

training in acupuncture which does not meet the standards established by

the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental

Medicine, the Council of Colleges for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine

and the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

When similar legislation was passed for MDs, incidences of pneumothorax

rose significantly. Legislation pending the Higher Education Committee

regarding this certification is not in the public interest and should be

opposed.
