I checked out this product recommended at goacupuncture.com, which

contains bu gu zhi and dan shen.

You mentioned bu gu zhi already, but dan shen is interesting because

vitiligo may be an autoimmune disease involving blood stasis in most

advanced cases. this would make dan shen and other blood movers good

choices. I would consider the base rx tao hong si wu tang plus dan shen

in a combined blood xu and stagnation case plus or minus whatever else

is necessary. However, while reports from china along these lines are

promising, I am not familiar any documented remissions. If anyone has

measurement of lesion sizes, distribution before and after.

I would like to issue a caution to those intending to use Bu Gu Zhi Ding ( tincture) . The application may cause severe burning and blistering of the skin. Western Medicine dermatological approach to Vitiligo uses PUVA therapy. Here, Methoxysoralen is applied to the patched areas and then irradiated with UVA light. This is done in the presence of the specialist, some people are highly sensitive to this treatment and may blister. Psoralen( methoxysoralen) is a constituent of Psoralea corylifolia - Bu Gu Zhi. Taken internally ,it can also sensitise the skin however the topical application is greater. These light burns have been noted even in short term duration winter light.
