Guest guest
Everyone, Thank you. I am gratified by your thoughts and advice. I was especially intrigued by the idea of Gu parasites. I have read several articles on the subject in recent months from many sources, including through the excellent online course that Todd offered. It didn't occur to me to apply this to my patient. Although her emotions are clearly a component of her problem, and I generally know that the stresses she feels are work related, I don't probe into the specifics --- finding that overally analyzing a patients emotional underpinnings (as done by many local practitioners) to be masturbatory. I almost always prefer to identify the dominant emotions, determine how they are affecting Zang Fu, and proceed from that. Again, the patient has been through the natural health wringer (as have many of my patients). Cutting out all of the typical " allergens " , being muscle tested, blah blah (not to sound overly cyncical). Like most of my patients, she had a month or two of improvement followed by return to symptoms despite her newly draconian life. This always seems placebo-like to me. Past patients have experience dramatic or even complete remission from their symptoms using carefully parsed TCM methods. I am convinced that this patient will as well, and I appreciate the insight you have given me along that path. I will keep you abreast.
