Guest guest
I've found Essiac to be a mediochre alterative which is somewhat helpful for pain associated with chemo, but will not, in and of itself address the underlying cancer. Based upon my own experience and that of a number of other (primarily western) herbalists, I do not know of any patients who saw remissions from Essiac alone, including patients who drank it by the gallon. One apparent success succumbed to cancer a few years later. I prefer decocted ling zhi, taken with vitamin C and folic acid, accompanied by a trifolium compound or scrophularia syrup (Eclectic medicine formulations), as well as dietary, spiritual and psychological supports. The cancer was detected about 6 years ago as a lump. She immediately started the supplements listed below (exerpted from a complete plan I gave her). Her Oncologist said it wouldn't hurt and wouldn't help either. She did one round of Chemo and one of Radio and then said no more of that but a lumpectomy was OK. The lump was completely gone except for some cellular debris. According to her, her doctors were puzzled that no cancer cells were left alive and stated that it must be a fluke or spontaneous remission. She goes on to this day with no relapse. Can't say it was the Essiac tea but she drank a cup or two every day and I think she still does. Bruce If the following comes to you looking messy... sorry, it was originally in Word and I now have WordPerfect and that change screwed it up. I tried to clean it up... hope it's readable. B ************************************************* Sublingual supplements Sublingual supplements are dissolved under the tongue, completely bypassing the digestive system. This is especially helpful for patients undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. Those treatments damage digestive function and reduce absorption. These are available through your health care professional from Da Vinci Labs at 1-800-325-1776. Co-enzyme Q10 1 100 mg. tablet 3-4 times a day. At 90mg per day it stopped the CoQ10 progression of breast cancer long term and at 390mg per day along with other supplements it caused total breast cancer remission in two small European studies. Gluconic DMG 1-2 125 mg. tablet 3 times a day. N,N-Dimethylglycine (DMG) increases oxygen at a cellular level which promotes immune function plus increases stamina and endurance. This may be very helpful when undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Vitamin B-12 1 1000 mcg. tablet daily especially if you are getting chemotherapy or radiation therapy that adversely effects the ability of your digestive system to absorb B-12. Liver protectants Dealing with cancer using any type of therapy puts an extra burden on the liver that must process most of the toxins created by the body. Strong liver function is essential to a strong immune system. Picroliv 250 mg. 3 times a day. This standardized extract of the root s and rhizomes of Picrorhiza kurroa, a perennial herb from the Himalayas, is a major liver protectant especially for people undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Milk thistle extract 2 150 mg. capsules 3 times a day and 1 capsule at bedtime. Heals the liver and (80%Silymarin) protects it against the effects of detoxifying the body, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and/or heavy alcohol use. It is totally non-toxic and therefore can be taken indefinitely. Xiao Yao Wan 8 pills 3 times a day. It is a chinese patent formula that helps protect the liver from the harmful effects of chemotherapy and radiation. It is also helpful for digestive dysfunction, irritability, fatigue and depression. Can be mixed in salads, lukewarm soups or mashed potatoes. Inhibits cancer cell formation, protects the liver, kills intestinal parasites and is an anti-oxidant. Note: much controversy exists as to the relative effectiveness of raw over various types of processed garlic. Since the battle continues to rage on with no definitive answer, why not take the real thing? It's much less expensive. However, if you can't tolerate fresh garlic, look for a product that is " standardized " to contain about 4 mg. of allicin per tablet and is " enteric coated " . The enteric coating moves the breakdown of the tablet from the stomach to the small intestine which also eliminates the pungent odor from seeping out in the breath. Take 3 of these tablets a day before meals. Siberian Ginseng extr. 1-2 capsules at waking, 1-2 capsules at lunch and 1-2 capsules in the afternoon. Avoid near bedtime. This herb can be used anytime as a natural (30% kavalactones) tranquilizer/mood enhancer. It may also be effective as an anticonvulsant when undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Ginger Chewing on a slice of fresh ginger during chemotherapy may help reduce the nausea. Fresh ginger can also be added to any of the teas. Herbal teas Green tea Drink at least four cups of strong Green tea a day as a replacement for coffee. Avoid near of bedtime as it contains caffeine. Guest guest
Bruce Given the comprehensiveness of your plan, it would not seem possible to me to identify whether essiac was a factor or not. Especially since you include several other well documented anti-cancer agents. I would also personally be concerned about continuous use of essiac. According to TCM, such an rx would be harmful to the system in the long run due to an excessively strong cooling and dispersing action on the yang qi. , " Bruce Youngberg HHP, OBT " < tcm@C...> wrote: > > Yes, one case of breast cancer. Guest guest
I checked and found that she discontinued the Essiac when she found out the cancer was gone. Thanks for the warning though... didn't think of it.
