Guest guest
Karen, my teacher here in China once cured a patient that had started talking to himself and showed uncontrolled movements that seemed to be of religious nature after he had been to the mountains for a few days. Mrs. Wang diagnosed him as having caught a mountain spirit. She used a certiain color of red and inserted needles into what seemed to me to be Heart 1, but she said it was a special point for driving out spirits. She even showed me the part in an old book where Acupuncture points for driving out ghosts, spirits etc are listed, but I wasn't really into the idea of dealing with these kind of things back then, so I don't remember too well (I was really scared of the whole thing at the time, it's one thing discussing it intellectually, and another to see it). Anyway, mountain spirits produce a swelling under the armpits, and that's where she attacked. The guy felt better immediately. I will look around if I wrote down the name of the classic at that time, and if I find it I'll come back to you.
