To make writing your US congressional representative easy, I have

enclosed the email addresses of all the House representatives from Alaska

to Montana (not counting those who must be contacted through web sites),

in a handy address block.

If anyone is disposed to compile addresses for the remaining

representatives (N.Carolina to Wyoming) off of the earthlaw site, you can

get them from the following url and post to the list:

http://www.earthlaw.org/Activist/houseadd1.htm

Your heading should contain the phrase " Support HR1890 " as many

representatives do not have the staff do anything more than count

responses.

You should however append your name and address since many of their email

programs will filter out anything without snail mail addresses.

I've appended Todd's letter under the names to make it easy to send the

letter. All you need to do is to copy the addresses, copy the text and

add

the heading and your name and address. You should send a single

individualized letter to your own representative. If your email program

restricts the number of recipients, you may want to divide the address

block

into subunits.

Letter:

Dear Congressperson,

As a [soon-to be] licensed acupuncturist, I wish to request that

acupuncturists are added to the list of health care providers who are

part of the Federal Student Loan Forgiveness program. Many

acupuncturists

would be well suited to this program. Acupuncturists are often inclined

to

serve the underprivileged and many are attracted to the rural areas that

qualify FSLF programs. In most states, we are trained as independent

care providers. While not being able to meet all primary health care

needs, we are trained in both emergency techniques and to make

appropriate referrals for conventional care.

Poor people and those in rural areas also deserve the opportunity to be

served with acupuncture, which is an inexpensive, safe form of

healthcare. And the licensed acupuncturist may be able to play a vital

role in supplementing the shortage of general practice physicians

nationwide. Your support of this bill would enable licensed

acupuncturists to practice in poor and rural areas and thus support

fairness and the availability of cost-effective alternatives in the

medical marketplace.

In order to accomplish this, would you please support HR 1890 to empower

freedom of choice and socioeconomic fairness for health care access?

Sincerely,

your name and snailmail address

telephone too
