Frequency of Treatment/herbs

This frequency of treatment discussion is another interesting area of

debate, but most of the current posts are probably moving outside the

scope of this forum. Thus, I'd like to see this thread weave into a

discussion of how this issue relates to chinese herbal medicine

practice, not start an acupuncture tangent.

 

For instance, in my experience, frequent contact with the patient has

benefits far beyond the actual therapy given. It is a time to

reinforce regimen, which seems to be a key point in the scenario Ken

describes in China. I find failure to follow regimen to be the

leading

cause of failure in my practice and anything I can do to reinforce it

dramatically improves results.

For some time now I have been an observer of post regarding issues

such as education standards , homeopathy, naturopathy etc. I do not

see why a discussion of treatment frequency with acupucnture is not

relevant to TCM practice. This may not be as esoteric as some of the

topics that may be within the " scope of this forum " .
