He is the best-connected person in the country on current research, methods, etc. He would be happy to help you. Tell him Julie sent you to him. Guest guest
I'm hoping for you cumulative knowledge and expertise on a couple of questions. I am now working in a western medical setting with a reproductive endocrinologist and fertility specialist doing acupuncture on patients preparing to go through invitro fertilization. They are sold on using acupuncture to increase the chances of pregnancy. They think it's all " circulation to the Uterus " , however, I am not able to convince them that acupuncture is safe or a viable option for women during pregnancy or to prevent miscarriage after the egg transfer. Also, in this setting the use of Chinese herbs is out of the question for these docs. My questions are 1. Does anyone know of any research done in English or translated into English that would support the use of acupuncture in pregnancy or to prevent miscarriage? Second issue is that I am interested in possibly turning this high volume of fertility patients with western tests to back up the results into a research project but I don't even know where to start. Has anyone done this before or have any resources? Is anyone else out there doing infertility research? Guest guest
HI Christina There is a gyno/infertility specialist in Sydney Dr Paul Sutherland who refers about 60 % of his patients for Chinese herbs. To me thats evidence enough but I have passed you email to Jane Lytleton(Sydney) who might have answers to your questions. cu Heiko Lade Registered Acupuncturist / Chinese Herbalist 2 Jenkins St. Green Island, Dunedin New Zealand Tel: (03) 488 4086, Fax: (03) 488 4012 http://www.lade.com/heiko Email: heiko
