Guest guest Posted June 12, 2000 Report Share Posted June 12, 2000 Steven It is not that we had this all figured out; it is rather that 1. we have an impeccable professional safety record on this issue 2. the actual culprit species are not used in standard TCM Also, Bensky and Hsu are both way out of date at this point. I am not sure how much effort has been made to educate practitioners about this issue, but I know AAOM has made frequent reports of it, at least recently. Since only a small fraction of L.Ac. belong to pro organizations, so who is responsible for this matter? I actually think this issue has been highly publicized to those who read widely in medicine. Most MD's know about it, for example. I am not sure our " profession " can be blamed because some don't read.
