Guest guest
There is a similar situation here in NZ .The main insurance company ACC must have all the codes etc in their terminology eg rotator cuff tear etc ....and we acupuncturists treat blood stasis and cold damp. But the physios and doctors therefore say we are not qualified to treat and diagnose these injuries and because they can do a weekend course in needling ....they are therefore best suited for the job. There is a lot of injury insurance work in NZ and it would take a lot of upgrading in courses etc .I think in the long run you will be a better provider as there will be an increased knowledge and communicative skill with doctors etc .This could possibly add on an extra year to students at college here in NZ.The TCM course in Sydney now is 5 years full time at uni and I suspect they will know all the jargon to impress the insurance companies but then still just treat cold damp anyway.
