Guest guest
Hello, I recently heard about your group from Paul Bergner when I was teaching at the Rocky Mt. Center for Botanical Studies. I'm glad to be on board! I was asked by the moderator to introduce myself; so here goes. My name is Candis Cantin Packard. For over 15 years, my husband and I have had an herb school here in the Sierras in Northern California; EverGreen Herb Garden and School of Integrative Herbology. We are attempting to integrate Western, Chinese and Ayurvedic herbal systems, similar to what my friend Michael Tierra has stated in Planetary Herbology. I am particularly enamored with Chinese tonic herbs. I feel the area of replenishing and rejuvenation is an important area for the Western herbalist to embrace. We also have a clinic, herb pharmacy and grow over 200 different herbs in our botanical garden. I also have written two books, Pocket Guide to Ayurvedic Healing and am the artist of the Herbal Tarot and co-authored its companion book, The Spirit of Herbs, with Michael Tierra. I have also written about 200 articles for various publications. Our gardens will be one of ten gardens featured in a book coming out in January 2001 from Storey Pub.titled " The Herbalist's Garden. " There will be about 15 photos of each garden. We are quite excited about this project. That's a rough outline about us. I hope to learn learn more about Chinese herbs/ system/ philosophy from each of the members. Best to you, Candis
