Dear CHA list members,

I was wondering if anybody can recommend make a recommendation for

periodical articles. I want to introduce a fellow herb student to different

schools of thought in chinese medicine. Currently I am trying to find an

introductory article on Zhu Dan Xi's Yin Watering Philosophy; also if there

are intro articles to other masters(ie. Li Dong Yuan, Zhong Zhang Jing,

etc.) that members can think of, that would be appreciated. Most articles

on schools of though that I have are intermediate to advanced level, which

are not suitable as intro material . Also most articles superficially allude

to the philosophyin the context of another subject (ie.particular diseases,

herb formulas, or treatment strategy) without discussing the particular

philosophy in any great depth.

For myself, I was wondering if there are any information resources on

growing and cultivating chinese herbs. I tried growing lycium barbarum (gou

qi zi) as a project for my herb class. Unfortunately I only two out of the

twenty-five seedlings I started have survived. I made mistakes and learned

some valuable lessons; I don't want to kill any more plants. I still feel

bad about those poor lycii seedlings who didn't make and the two that have

survived.
