I considered Paul's statement (and the lecture I attended by Cascade Anderson Geller in April 2000 at the Southwest Conference on Botanical Medicine) in deciding to let my patient try lobelia. She did use the dried form, which you say is not as strong, and she had a severe reaction (although nothing worse than vomiting). can you clarify the situation?
