Guest guest
To clarify, I forwarded Alon's message to CHA due to a technical error. However, I do not agree with his position on term selection and did not intend to endorse that position. For those new to CHA, you can view my actual thoughts by searching for " terminology " at /messages/ sorry about any confusion. I have not been swayed one iota by this four month argument for using connotative terminology.
Guest guest
My point is that the arguments for or against a dictionary, transparency, connotative versus denotative, etc. go only so far...which is not very far at all. To get somewhere along this road, we have to deal with specific words and phrases. That is the value of the Practical Dictionary, i.e. you can look through it entry-by-entry and deal with very specific material. Let's exploit this value.
