Guest guest
Peter- You are aware of the JCM abstract from Issue No. 47, Jan/95? I attach it herewith from the cd-rom in case you missed it. Acupuncture at Jianjing for Treatment of Achalasia of the Cardia (Shi Tusheng et. al.): 11 cases of achalasia of the cardia (cardiospasm/megalo-oesophagus) were treated with Jianjing GB-21 as the main point. This was needled to a depth of 0.5 to 0.8 cun with insertion on inhalation and withdrawal on exhalation, to induce sen-sation propagated to the chest. This was followed by needling at Neiguan P-6, Zhongwan REN-12, Shanzhong REN-17 directed to Zhongting REN-16, and Zusanli ST-36. The therapeutic results compared favourably with a control group treated with modern medicine. It was noted that barium meal passed smoothly through the cardia into the stomach when Jianjing GB-21 was needled, and this was even more marked when the additional points were added. Ann Brameier P.S. I've corrected the spelling of the disorder in the subject line above. Might I take this opportunity to herewith humbly beg a little more attention to proofreading by the very learned posters hereto? - " Peter Deadman " <jcm Friday, September 15, 2000 7:10 AM Achalsia > Dear All, > > I have two questions: > 1.
