Guest guest
Lucky for me I get to have the last word on this subject It is perfectly OK and encouraged for people to talk about subjects like research, terminology, etc. It is not OK to dismiss anyone's words as " long winded " or " rants " No one is forcing anyone to be here (I hope!). However, please DO delete all but relevant portions of previous messages in your replies. This is standard netiquette and I also find this lapse annoying. with regard to chai hu versus xiang fu, I consider xiang fu much more of a threat to the yin than chai hu. chai hu as a yin threat is much overstated, especially with the low doses typically used to treat liver depression in american formulae. xiang fu is aromatic, slightly warming and drying. chai hu is cooling and its effect on yin is highly debated for centuries. chai hu is only c/c ed for lung yin xu, but xiang fu is c/c ed for yin xu in general in Bensky. According to bob flaws, many exterior releasing herbs are indicated to disperse liver qi and uplift yang. -- Chinese Herbal Medicine
