Guest guest
Both Chai Hu and Xiang Fu are drying and therefore may damage Yin. My practice is to use Chai Hu for repletion etiology and Xiang Fu for insufficiency etiology. The Yin is then protected by the other herbs in the formula such as Bai Shao.
