Thus, anxiety seems to mainly treated by supplementation Essence-spirit Depression is often understood according to the chinese bing called yu zheng, often tr. as melancholy. According to chen ze lin, the main patterns are liver qi depression, qi and phlegm depression, also ht/sp xu. I actually think all cases need to be evaluated individually according to bian zheng. If I must take a position, I think both " simplifications " are wrong if they are used more than as guideposts upon which to erect an individualized plan.
