Guest guest
Alon, We seem to be in agreement here. Historically significant contributors to Chinese medical thought have had a strong foundation in classical study. The study of such material links the thinking process to some of the greatest minds this medicine has to offer. That said, such inspiration has value only when it is rendered clinically useful. The notion trust but verify can be applied to lineage-based teachings as well as classical material. Especially since lineage-based teachings are subject to the influence of those who bear the lineage. A third discipline I find useful is the presentation of these clinical and classical insights to senior practitioners for input and reflection.
