Guest guest
I saw Heiko's post about using herbs to express measels in patients with MS, I was wondering what the group thought about trying this in children who seen to have become autistic due to the MMR shot. These children seem to have low immune sx and are suseptable to problems with this, latent pathogenic factor? Various MD's have proposed these kids have liver detox problems and possible high levels of heavy metals(esp mercury). GI problems are normal in many of these children. My interest in this is due to the fact I have a ten year old who has autism, he got very sick after the MMR, but went to a naturopath who gave him a sulphur remedy upon which he broke out all over his body. He is mildly autistic, possibly the sulphur blocked some of the action of the injection? Julian Scott looked at him and gave a dx of sp kd xu. Tried Acrous tablets from ITM, made him hyperactive, latent heat? Sorry, this is rambling, however this is coming from a practioner and a parent. Steve, snydez99 Thousands of Stores. Steve, snydez99 > > Steve, A lot of different thoughts here, I'll try to give a coherent answer to some of it. It is difficult to generalize in these situations, as studies have not been done. Theoretically I would think it likely that MANY cases of autism may be related to vaccine reactions, as I noted in a previous post, and that there would be at least temporary immunosuppression in those patients (this HAS been documented in the WM literature, see " Divided Legacy, Vol IV, by Harris Coulter for some sources). However, the application of latent heat theory to this situation is a modern application, and would, again, be in the theoretical realm. We cannot automatically apply it to this situation. The homeopath who used sulphur obviously got a lot of internal heat to express outwards, and according to homeopathic theory, a successful response. I would avoid using other treatments for awhile after using homeopathy to see what happens next. I need more information on the pulse, tongue, and diagnosis to go any further. Obviously, this patient is in good hands with Julian Scott. . . ..but I'd like to know what is in the Acorus formula, and what it is supposed to be used for. Guest guest
A while back there was testimony before congress on CNN. MDs from Indiana were discussing this problem and attributing the dramatic rise in autism to the MMR shot. Their explanation was that the shot interfered or damaged a protein on the cell wall that controlled cellular communication, and worked with Vitamin A.Their discussion was fascinating and convincing. Their solution was vitamin A from cod liver oil, and significant improvement in many cases was reported. It is a simple and elegant solution. Vitamin A's role in immune function may be some interesting overlap between Western medicine and our's. I'm just paraphrasing since it was a while ago; but you should be able to contact an MD or organization in Indiana to verify the details. Guest guest
I sent the attached file to Steve directly thinking it might be too far afield for this list, but since James alluded to this matter I will include it here. It is extracted from Jeff Bland's digital version of his newsletter. This was taken from a part of the 9/99 entry in which he interviewed Dr. Mary Megson. - Just in case anyone wants to add it to their database.
