Guest guest
Regarding the supposed Congressional action on an HMO Bill, I inquired about it from a colleague in the know and got the following response: Hi Stephen, The message forwarded from Jack is " hooey " - no such bill exists. I have been in touch with the at least hyperbolic, perhaps paranoid originator of this unfortunately widely distributed misinformation, who now has the audacity to credit himself in pressuring an " unnamed " Congressman to withdraw the odious (though nonexistent) legislation that is the subject of this drivel....have I sufficiently expressed my distaste for this misuse of the medium? Both sides of the aisle want to reign in some of the abuses of the HMOs. So far, so good. If this bill slips through the F.D.A. will be empowered to regulate natural (herbal) products. Yep, you will need a prescription to get your echinacea, etc. Monday, January 29, 2001 11:51 PM If you choose to oppose this bill, you should investigate the matter thoroughly. It is careless to support any political position without careful consideration, especially in response to such a hyperbolic plea.
