Sweating question

Hi all *S*

 

I am playing catch-up on mail, however am very interested in the sweating thread. I just received a call that a friend of ours sister, has declined even further. She was in an accident about 1 month ago... she was on life support and at some point her breathing tube fell out and when it was discovered she was all blue. Her Liver was torn up so bad they did not think she would initially live through the night. Her foot was also severly shattered.

 

So now it is thought that she is indeed brain dead. She recently was shipped to a place where people are off life support, comatose and continue breathing. The strange thing is that she is sweating profusely. She is sweating so much and so bad that her fingers are rotting.

 

I cannot help but wonder if acupuncture would have helped her to wake up, intially? Has anyone heard of or had experience with this?!!!? In the clinic, I have stopped sweating that was due to a febrile disease by using 2 points, I believe they were Du14 & 12.

 

I am wondering what is going on with her, that would make her sweat so profusely! I am thinking that the hypothalmic area is damaged. However, I am going crazy trying to figure it out in TCM.

 

Anywho, any thoughts would be great!
