If you are taking a detailed pulse, ie in addition to overall qualities you identify qualities at each depth in each position etc, it can take up to 20 minutes in a new patient. I usually allow up to 20 minutes with a new patient, but often it is quicker than that, sometimes as little as 5 minutes in relatively healthy people. For follow up visits usually I allow 2 minutes to 5 minutes. The key is to keep detailed notes. >Do you count breaths or time by clock? -- I use a watch with a sweeping second hand, for the record. I also observe the breath/pulse rate relationship briefly to make sure it is in accord. Rory
Guest guest
Depend on, some people you can feel the pulses right away, some take few second, some take few minute, some hard to find the pulses. Better to count by clock., it more exact Nhung Ta - <sherrilgol Thursday, March 15, 2001 9:47 AM pulse question > This is a very basic question, if any members can help me- > > how long do you feel the pulses?
