Where I see OM strength is in treating ones general strength and functional systems. But again, and both in internal medicine and orthopedics, my observations both here and china is that TCM often fails in non-functional disorders. And again this is looking at outcomes of very well trained Dr in China. Alon, Regardless of how well trained the Chinese doctors were that you observed, if they treated the channel pathology without identifying the relevant internal dysfunction and treated it effectively and concurrently with the channel therapy then your results using TCM methods would be reduced substantially. Just because someone in China failed, you need to look further and determine why. Perhaps they were missing some part of the picture. And...no method is successful all the time, including your orthopaedic methods. I've seen chronic unresponsive back pain turn out to be an allergy to a local plant leaf (not the bloom so it wasn't seasonal) and there were no respiratory symptoms such as sneezing. Once the proper TCM diagnosis was made, i.e. Spleen yin/blood xu with liver wind causing the allergy, then back treatments began to have effect. Injection therapy had no effect. Establishing accurate yet often seemingly disparate cause and effect relationships is not easy in many cases but it is often the key to successful outcomes. In china i did very little orthopedic work, I was not impress enough to spend the time. Regarding injections, if the diagnosis is wrong no matter what is the treatment it would not work. By the way I agree that allergies can cause muscular pain. A good orthopedic Dr should be able to sort this out. Alon
