Guest guest
I have a 56 year old female patient that recently fell and broke her wrist and ankle in many places. Her wrist has been in a " stabilizer " for seven weeks and according to her orthopedist is not healing well because of osteoporosis. She is taking herbs internally. And I have given her some spring wind soft plasters externally. However, does anyone have any suggestions for external herbs that would specially help her bones heal. She has some swelling, no redness, and some aches but she also still has pins in her wrist. Also, does anyone have access to a line of herbal plasters from the Lung Hua Hospital in Shanghai? Guest guest
Julie BPP has a book " secret Shaolin Formula for the treatmnet of external injury " which has formula that you need. In a nut shell though............gu sui bu, xu duan, zi ran tong (pyrite) , mo yo, ru xiang, ji xue yeng, huang bai,da huang, dang gui wei, chuan xiong and shan zhi zi with jing jie for the swelling. Vary the amounts according to your needs , eg a larger amount of gu sui bu send them all to Peter Borten who will grind them into powder for you make the powder into a workable sloppy paste with rice wine/water/ vinegar put around the injured area and bandage up if this done initially with the bone setting plaster it radically speeds up the bone healing time frame. hope that helps Heiko Julie Smith wrote: > I have a 56 year old female patient that recently fell and broke her wrist > and ankle in many places. Guest guest
Julie- Comfrey poultices or compresses will significantly help the bone healing and I haven't found anything better. I also like to use it in baths if the affected part can be submerged. For external use you don't have to be too picky about which kind of Symphytum you use- if you elect to include it for short term internal use, use S. officinale and screen for kidney disease. And the usual regimen of bone marrow soups, vinegars infused with bone herbs, diet, and weight-bearing exercises involving the parts of the body that can bear weight will all help.
