Guest guest
three questions. a bit vague, but that's why they're questions: 1. is food stagnation more likely in cases of summerheat attack? i'm assuming yin/fluid xu and therefore stomach yin xu would be major considerations. Also, how would one go about treating such a case in terms of fluids/yin and xu heat s/s? Should certain foods be avoided? 2. how is traditional organ time for the Lung Qi (3am - 5am) related to phlegm formation/management, and how is the period 3pm - 5pm when the Lung Qi is most vacuous, also related to the same two phenomena? 3. it seems spicy foods are most common in cultures nearer the equator. what purpose(s) would the consumption of such foods serve for persons living in these areas? is it based on constitution/climate, and if so, can a case be made for the determination of constitutional types by the geographic/climatic factors in the area in which the person's body is formed? Also, what bodily changes might accompany a person's movement from, say, Southern Mexico to Portland, Oregon that would be responsible for changes in the body's ability to cope with the regular consumption of such foods? ftm

Guest guest
The reaction to spicy foods is a matter of dosage and timing. A little cayenne may be warming, but a large dose will get you sweating and you will then cool down. So I sprinkle it in my shoes in winter and eat it in salsa in summer.
