Guest guest
Dear members, Firstly, let me congratulate everyone for their contributions to this discussion site-a wonderful mix of philosophical, clinical and practical issues, something for everybody! Secondly-a more practical problem: I have sometimes observed over the years, tongues with yellow-orange sides in the Liver-Gallbladder area. I have seen this in the contexts of Liver Blood Xu or Damp-heat in the Liver and Gallbladder. Given the colour, I have interpreted this feature as Spleen-Stomach involvement with Damp buiding up in the Middle Jiao and transferring horizontally to the Liver and Gallbladder. Recently I have had discusions with two practitioners from PRC who regard this feature as indicating a preliminary indicator of Liver Blood Stagnation before this area of the tongue will change to purple. While both interpretations are not mutually exclusive as Blood stagnation could ultimately be an outcome of Blood Xu or Damp Heat, the emphasis are different. I am wondering how other members interpret this yellow-orange colour on this area of the tongue and does anybody know of any references to this feature.
