Ge gen is part of folk medicine among the Japanese as well. `Ume-soya-kudzu'

is a favored morning-after hangover remedy. `Ume' is the umemboshi plums,

`soya' is tamari, and kudzu is ge gen (often found as `arrow-root powder' the

natural food stores). It is a good, cheap kitchen remedy.
