Guest guest
In our neck of the woods, the surgical rearrangement of a patients arm vessels for dialysis is called a " shunt " . The wooshing sound and feel is called a " thrill " and it is diagnostic of the intactness of the shunt. (One should feel a thrill in a working shunt.) Shunts can be anywhere on the arm.
