Guest guest
I was pleased to see an article by John chen in Acupuncture Today noting that the FDA was now satisfied with the compliance all the major herb companies have shown in testing for aristolochic acid in the suspect herbs. Contrary to the fear mongering in some quarters, the FDA is not out to ban any of the herbs we use and all herbs are still available. It is further proof that working with this government agency can lead to both greater public safety, no harm to to our practices and a better image for our profession. Vigilance is necessary, but hysteria is misplaced. We need to remain cognizant of the fact that the public is wary of us. A recent article in Acu today also reported that the public wants more regulationof supplements. If we oppose this trend, then we are left out of the inevitable process. It is better to work with the tao of society than just try and swim upstream.
