Guest guest
I have come to understand formula use in clinic by an analysis of the ingredients and their interactions, not merely the symptom complexes from the source text. this is how my teachers all used such formulas and is reflected in the use of SHL formulas for myriad patterns in both china and Japan. An analysis of five formulas considered of indisputable modern importance by practitioners of all schools of thought reveals that that these formulas all address from 4-5 patterns in their basic construction. this is somewhat obscured in basic textbooks. xiao yao san - supplement qi, soothe liver, drain damp, nourish blood, move blood xiao chai hu tang - supplement qi, soothe liver, transform damp and phlegm, clear heat liu wei di huang wan - supplement yin, supplement qi, clear heat, move blood, drain damp, astringe bu zhong yi qi tang - supplement qi, raise yang, regulate qi, nourish blood, move blood liu jun zi tang - supplement qi, drain damp, transform phlegm, regulate qi -- Chinese Herbs VOICE: (858) 946-0070 FAX: (858) 946 0067
