Guest guest
The formula analysis as in Bensky was based on chinese texts from the cultural revolution era. Since this book is based on writings from an era when the communists were being very linear and restrictive, ignoring concepts of five phases and mutual engenderment, perhaps it is the standard interpretations to which Jason refers that are skewed. If the chinese writers in the seventies had been influenced by li dong yuan, perhaps they would have had an entirely different take on formula dynamics. I have taught a course understanding formula dynamics from the perspective of the qi mechanism. Most of the formulas I analyze this way are not taught as such, yet I have provided extensive references to support my methodology. There is no right or wrong here. There is just dogma and reassessment. for those who care to just bow to dogma, so be it. I never cared for fundamentalism myself. -- Chinese Herbs VOICE: (858) 946-0070 FAX: (858) 946 0067
