As Lorraine has eloquently stated, there is no one

size fit all remedy in Feng Shui.

Indirectly answering your question regarding “Is

anyone familiar with resources, web sites or rituals

that involve the use of chinese herbs to drive evil

spirits from a house?” you might find something useful

imbedded in the contents of these web sites.

Master Peter Leung’s site

www.fengshuisos.com

or, Master Joseph Yu’s site

www.astro-fengshui.com

A site illustrating more of what Lorraine has

demonstrated regarding qi, yin and yang with the five

elements is Judy Adler’s Feng Shui site. Start at the

article’s section (for an overview) and navigate from

there. www.adlerfengshui.com/articles.htm

To find specific information on the subject of

‘chinese herbs to drive evil spirits from a house’ you

may beckon the assistance of a good search engine.

Two of my personal favorites are: Google

(www.google.com) and Ask Jeeves (www.askjeeves.com).

Simply place the search words - chinese herbs to drive

evil spirits from a house – in the window and see

where your research takes you.

Best regards,

herb

Post Script – On Master Leung’s fengshuisos.com site

he references “The Four Pillars of Destiny” and

provides an overview of the term. Anyone wishing to

map The Four Pillars of Destiny chart for themselves

may reference Master Yu’s astro-fengshui.com site and

refer to the ‘Four Pillars Calculator’. If you want

to be as accurate as possible locate the longitude of

your birth place via MapBlast (www.mapblast.com), e.g.

I was born in USA, at 27 Park Street, Hyannis, MA

02601 - longitude = 70.272625

would give any quasi-religious belief.

{Lorraine responded} True fengshui has nothing to do

with religion, ritual, chanting, talismans, or icons,

although these have been brought into it by

practitioners that did not have adequate FS education,

or by people with personal beliefs that like to mix

their beliefs with their profession. FS, like CM is

not dependent on the belief of the client. (I know

there are no studies to back this up, but who would

fund such a study?) FS, like Chinese medicine, is

working with the qi, with yin and yang, with the five

elements.

{Lorraine responded} If there are truly bad spirits,

my FS master says this is not to be messed with

lightly. But in all likelihood, there is some bad qi

and not spirits. This is the case in most houses with

problems. If there are spirits, they are from the yin

world. We as humans live in the yang world. The best

thing a layman can do is increase the yang in the

house...make sure the lighting is adequate, it is warm

and dry enough. Remove dead and dying vegetation,

trash, broken things. Even renovation to add more

windows and skylights could help. Spirits do not like

light and warmth. Yes, there is more than that that

can be done, but the house needs a diagnosis as to

what exactly is the problem. One would take a compass

reading and use the date of construction of the

building to do a calculation. Based on this, the

location of the doors, the environment, and other

factors, many recommendations could be made. But

without 'seeing the patient' or looking at the house,

it is not possible to make more specific

recommendations. There is no one-size-fits-all remedy

in FS.

ghosts

A patient of mine has made a request for information

in an area of CM that is outside my area of expertise.

I plan to give it the same respect I would give any

quasi-religious belief. This patient is into feng

shui and wants to know what I can add to her efforts.

This is not a joke and any help would be appreciated.

Is anyone familiar with resources, websites or rituals

that involve the use of chinese herbs to drive evil

spirits from a house?

Peter Leung is also a Chinese doctor/herbalist and

quite a scholar. He is from Hong Kong, and has quite a

different view of the medicine from the PRC-trained

doctors.

In fact, his focus in the Four Pillars (Zi3ping2

Ba1zi4) is on medical 4 Pillars. He does teach this,

if anyone is interested.
