You can get one for about ten bucks from beyond-a-century.com unless

you are talking about something more high tech.

the manula cappers are somewhat time consuming to use. You need to

charge extra to do this. I would add 50% to the price of the formula

(this is pretty standard) or let the patient use the machine to do it

himself.

There are a few of these things out there from a variety of manufacturers.

I myself like the drama of the glass jars and flaming ball to induce the

suction. So, I haven't yet invested in any of the hand-held vacuum devices.

There is a small but growing database of Oriental medical suppliers here:

Oh, heh heh. Earlier, I read this as " cupping " rather than " capping " machine.

I've got this little plastic machine that fills 100 caps at a time,

though the time takes me about 15 minutes to load it, add the herbs,

sandwhich it together and then pull the caps out, snap them together and

put them into a bottle. It was $50 and I got it through Lotus Herbs.

This contraption is available through most of the companies that sell

the powdered herb extracts.

The next fastest incarnation of this technology costs in the

neighborhood of $750 and allegedly caps 100 capsules in 5 minutes.

After that point, we jump into the $5000 category for labs that are

manufacturing many many capsules.

The item that Jeannette mentions I've seen at health food stores too. I

found it not to be very well designed. The fact that it takes both the

usual 0 sized capsules as well as the larger 00 means that when you use

the smaller size you don't get a good fit when pouring the powder in,

you lose a lot, and you have to snap the caps on manually. Its a good

choice if you make very infrequent use of the thing, but if you really

practice with herb powders I'd suggest that you lean more toward the $50

model mentioned above until your volume necessitates the $750 model.
